Building and Zoning Department
The Village of Mount Horeb Building and Zoning department is there to answer all your questions regarding construction, code issues, uses of property, signs, permits, licenses and other Zoning related questions.
We are located on the second floor of the Municipal Building, at the rear of the building.
Any project that involves new construction or remodeling will require a permit. In most cases, that permit involves a simple application and review by the Building Dept. prior to approval.
In some cases, a decision must be referred to the Plan Commission or to the Zoning Board of Appeals for review and approval. You will be informed at the time you apply if there will be additional review time and approvals required for your project.
We are also the starting point for any commercial projects that may require Design Review, Conditional Use Permits, or Zoning Changes. Applications and a fee schedule are available below.
