The Mount Horeb Water Utility will flush hydrants starting October 7 thru October 25. If your water appears discolored please let your tap run five to ten minutes and it should clear up. Try to do laundry during evening hours if possible. Utility Superintendent Dave Herfel and the Water Utility thank you for your cooperation.
Please keep lawn clippings out of storm drains and streets. Large amounts often clump together and clog the drain causing flooding. If you use chemicals on your lawn or garden they may contaminate the water which runs off after rains or lawn watering. When lawn clippings decompose they release carbon and nitrogen which feeds algae. The algae uses up oxygen in the water and contributes to fish kills. Please keep storm drains and streets free of cut grass.
Downtown parking areas available to the public are indicated on the linked map for your convenience.
